The Oklahoma women's soccer team fell to Tennessee, 3-1, in the season opener for both teams Friday night.
The Sooners had 14 shots and nine shots on goal, but it wasn't enough to overcome the efficient Volunteers attack. Tennessee's three goals came on just four shots on goal.
Tori Bailey scored first just 12 minutes into the contest for Tennessee. The Sooners tied the score in the 37th minutes on a penalty kick goal from Devin Barrett, but Tennessee retook the lead just before the half on a goal from Caroline Brown.
Cheyenne Spade scored just three minutes into the second half for the Volunteers for the final margin.
Oklahoma will look to even its record against Kennesaw State on Sunday at 11 a.m.
