Scammers Claim To Be OKC Roofing Company, Threaten Homeowners

A local roofing company is warning homeowners about a scam that they say is trashing their name and scaring homeowners. 

Oklahoma Roofing and Sheet Metal President, Gerry Shepherd, says someone has been calling area homeowners saying they represent his company. He says they use high pressure tactics, and call the homeowner several times to get them to allow them to come over and check out their roof. 

Shepherd says the imposters threaten homeowners with violence if they say "no." He says two people have even been threatened with their lives.

"It's not Oklahoma Roofing. We don't do residential and we never have. What these folks need to do is pick up the phone and call the police." 

Shepherd says no homeowner should do business with any roofing company that can't prove they are members of Oklahoma's Roofing Contractors Association.
