A mother and son were arrested and jailed for child neglect and child abuse in Spencer. Police say the pair locked two young girls, 11 and 13, outside for hours at a time.
Two girls were locked out in the heat by their older brother, Aaron Bradford. Spencer Police say their adoptive mother, Karen Bradford, admitted to doing the same thing to the girls before because she didn't trust them to stay in the house alone.

According to police, the girls were living with their brothers because their mother "could not deal with them anymore."
While they were locked outside alone, which the girls told police happened often, they only had a little bit of water and some snacks, like Ramen Noodles.
We've learned the Karen Bradford works as a teaching assistant at Green Pastures Elementary School through the City-County Headstart Program.
Aaron Bradford and his mother Karen Bradford both bonded out of jail Tuesday morning.
