Oklahoma City Police say they arrested an intoxicated man who kicked one officer in the face, and another officer in the arm.
On August 3 around 9:40 p.m., police responded to an accident call at S.E. 104th Street and Harrah Road. They found a red Mustang sitting in a ditch, with 49-year-old Douglas Hennessey sitting inside the car.
Police said Hennessey smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. According to the police report, Hennessey was trying to operate his cell phone, but couldn't.
Hennessey told officers a friend was driving the car, but the friend got out of the vehicle and started walking. Police didn't see anyone else, but they also could not locate the keys to the car.
Police arrested Hennessey for public intoxication. As an officer put him in a patrol car, Hennessey began yelling, resisting and struggling. The officer said Hennessey sat in the seat, rolled onto his back, and kicked him in the face and chest. Another officer rushed to help, and Hennessey kicked him in the arm and leg.
Neither officer was injured.
The officers placed hobbles and a seat belt on Hennessey to get him under control. He was taken to the Oklahoma County jail and booked for assault and battery on an officer, assault and battery on a city official, and public intoxication.
