A big boost arrived Thursday for the teachers at the Plaza Towers and Briarwood Elementary schools, as the superintendent of Stillwater schools spurred a donation movement.
After hearing about her efforts to raise money to go directly to the teachers at those tornado-destroyed schools, Barry Sanders Supercenter, a car dealership in Stillwater, donated $25,000 to the cause.
The money will be put on gift cards which the teachers will use to buy personal items for their classrooms.
The Moore school district also announced Thursday that temporary schools will be set up for Plaza Towers and Briarwood for the coming school year.
News 9 is told the new buildings will be built in the same locations as the original schools and they'll be ready for the 2014 - 2015 school year.
