Norman North quarterback David Cornwell announced on Friday via Twitter that he has committed to play at Alabama.
This news comes shortly after Cornwell was granted an extra semester of eligibility to play at Norman North this fall by the OSSAA last week.
Cornwell threw for 2,742 yards and 27 touchdowns at Jones High School last season in his first year as a starter. He is rated as a consensus four-star prospect and is regarded as the No. 5 overall quarterback in the class of 2014 by both Scout and Rivals.com. He is arguably the top pro-style signal caller nationally in this year's class.
His family moved from Jones to Norman following the fall semester in 2012.
He chose the Crimson Tide over offers from Oklahoma State, Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA and Virginia Tech, among others.
