For the fourth-straight week the Southeastern softball team has maintained its hold on the No. 5 national ranking in the NFCA Division II Softball Poll as released on Wednesday.
The Savage Storm currently hold a 28-7 record overall on the season and a 13-3 mark in Great American Conference play.
SE picked up some ground in the point total and put some space between themselves and No. 6 North Georgia who was just six points behind the Storm a week ago, but are now 33 points behind SE's total of 324.
Southeastern was the only team in the top five to not make a move on the week as Indianapolis at 30-2 moved into the top spot with 392 points and 11 first place votes, supplanting West Texas A&M who slipped to No. 2 with 382 points and three first-place votes.
Armstrong Atlantic picked up the remaining first-place vote and moved up a spot to No. 3 with a 27-4-1 record and 369 points, while Valdosta State fell to No. 4 with a 26-8 record and 352 points.
The Storm leads a foursome of Central region schools in the top-25, with Central Oklahoma slipping a spot to No. 10 with a 25-7 record, Fort Hays State coming in at No. 18 with a 27-5 record, while Missouri Western State rounds out the group at No. 24 with a 24-8 record.
Southeastern will be back on the field April 5-6 when it hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State in a four-game series at the Southeastern Softball Field.
