St. Gregory's rode the bat of Melanie Gladden and got two strong performances in the circle in a doubleheader sweep of Lindenwood University-Belleville Tuesday afternoon at Moody Park. SGU won the opener 5-0 before run-ruling the home team 12-2 in the nightcap.
Gladden went 5-for-7 with eight runs batted in as the Cavaliers extended their winning streak to 15 games. Her career day included a double and two home runs in the nightcap. She had six RBIs in Game 2 alone. Allison Conyers also had a hot bat, going 6-for-8 with two runs scored and an RBI in the doubleheader.
In the opener, SGU All-American Devon Frazier picked up her ninth win in as many starts this season. She scattered four hits over seven innings, striking out five while walking only one. Frazier has allowed only one earned run in her last seven appearances.
Conyers and Sierra Gallego combined to concede only one earned run on three hits in Game 2. Conyers went three innings and struck out three. Gallego pitched the final two innings, allowing only one hit.
The 15-game winning streak is the program's longest since the 2008 season. That team won 16 straight.
