OSU's Smart Named Wooden Award Finalist

The 15 finalists for the John R. Wooden Award were announced Saturday, and Oklahoma State's Marcus Smart was among them.

The Wooden Award recognized the playoff of the year in NCAA basketball, and along with the Naismith Award is recognized as the top individual honor in college hoops.

Notable players joining Smart as finalists are Kansas' Jeff Withey and Ben McLemore, Georgetown's Otto Porter, Indiana's Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller, Gonzaga's Kelly Olynyk, Michigan's Trey Burke and Creighton's Doug McDermott.

Smart is averaging 14.9 points per game for OSU (23-7, 13-5) the Cowboys prepare for the Big 12 tournament as the No. 3 seed.
