After extensive air quality tests, the Department of Labor has determined that Parmelee Elementary School is safe to occupy and will be open for class on Monday.
During MAPS for Kids renovations on Thursday, the construction crew tore the old tile up, causing dust particles to float in the air.
Because of that, school administration decided to cancel classes for rest of that day Thursday and for Friday so the air-quality tests could be performed.
Air quality tests conducted at Parmelee Elementary School on Friday came back negative for any unhealthy particles. More tests were subsequently performed and those results also came back negative, leading to today's decision to open classes for Monday.
