Samantha Chrisman hit a home run and had three RBIs as the Oklahoma State Cowgirl softball team won its rematch with Iowa, 4-3, on Sunday in the Lovelace Invitational, hosted by North Texas.
In the third inning, Chrisman broke a scoreless tie with a laser over the fence in right, giving OSU a 1-0 lead. In the fifth, she put the exclamation point on a string of four-consecutive Cowgirl hits, smacking a two-run double to extend the OSU lead to 4-0.
Iowa rallied with three runs in the sixth, but OSU pitcher Simone Freeman slammed the door, forcing a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh to secure the win.
Oklahoma State (5-4) will be back in action at the Cathedral City Classic in Palm Springs, Calif., Feb. 21-23.
