Markel Brown drained one shot after another Thursday night, scoring 25 points as Oklahoma State smoked Texas Tech 91-67 in Lubbock.
Brown shot from 8-11 the field and an incredible 7-8 from 3-point range. Mike Cobbins added a double-double for OSU, scoring 13 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Marcus Smart had a quiet but efficient night, scoring 10 points on 4-6 shooting.
OSU (18-5, 8-3) shot 56 percent as a team, including 12-21 (57 percent) from downtown. The Cowboys outrebounded the Red Raiders 33-27 and dished out 20 assists on 32 made field goals. The game was well-decided by halftime as the Pokes took a 55-34 lead into the break.
Texas Tech (9-13, 2-9) was led by Dusty Hannahs' 14 points off the bench, while Josh Gray added 10 and was the only other Red Raider in double figures. Texas Tech shot just 37 percent and committed 14 turnovers.
The win moves the Cowboys into a three-way first-place tie in the Big 12. OSU joins Kansas and Kansas State atop the conference heading into Bedlam on Saturday.
