Oklahoma City University has signed standout prep wrestlers Trevor Anderson of Spanaway, Wash.; Sean Carson of Altus, Okla.; Brent Davis of Plainview, Okla.; and Derek Sivertsen of Moore, Okla.
The Stars' latest recruits include the 2012 Oklahoma Class 5A state 195-pound champion, the first Plainview wrestler to continue his career into college, a two-time Washington state placer and two-time state qualifier and two-time Mid-State Conference champion.
Anderson has placed twice in Washington's Class 4A state tournament for Spanaway Bethel High School (Wash.). As a junior, Anderson took fourth place with a 36-7 record. He finished sixth in the state tournament and went 30-4 as a junior.
Carson captured the Class 5A 195-pound state championship and went 43-6 as a junior. Through 32 matches of his senior year, Carson has gone 30-2.
Davis became the first Plainview wrestler to sign a college letter of intent. He is a two-time Class 3A state tournament qualifier, advancing to the semifinals as a junior.
Sivertsen posted an 80-32 career record entering his senior year at Moore High School. He is a three-time Mid-State Conference finalist and two-time conference champion. Sivertsen went 32-9 with a fourth-place finish at 170 pounds in the Class 6A state tournament as a junior. Sivertsen won three tournament titles.
Through 30 matches as a senior, Sivertsen has gone unbeaten with 26 falls. He owns five tournament titles. Sivertsen is the brother of current OCU wrestler Cody Sivertsen.
The Stars, ranked ninth in NAIA wrestling, complete their regular season with a 6 p.m. dual against Newman (Kan.) and an 8 p.m. contest vs. Nebraska-Kearney on Wednesday in Wichita, Kan. Nebraska-Kearney is ranked eighth in NCAA Division II.
