A Weatherford man was killed in what Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers suspect is a DUI accident in Washita County, early Saturday morning.

The wreck occurred two miles north of the town of Colony, Okla. in Washita County.

According to the OHP report, 48-year-old Glenn Edward was driving a 2006 Chevy pickup northbound on county road 2420 when the vehicle departed the roadway to the left for an unknown reason.

Once off the road the vehicle struck a concrete culvert and went into a broad slide, rolling one time before striking a fence. Edward was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle, 49-year-old Bonita McDow, was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

Troopers on scene detected the odor of alcohol on Edward and thusly assessed that the accident was the result of driving under the influence.

Crews from the Washita County Sheriff's Office, the Colony Fire Department and Sinor Ambulance assisted troopers on scene.
