Two-Vehicle Accident Backs Up Traffic On EB I-40, At Portland

Traffic on eastbound Interstate 40 was backed up after a two-vehicle accident near the Portland exit, Friday afternoon.

Only one lane was open to traffic as crews worked to clear the scene. At least one injury has been reported. That person was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

As of 5 p.m., traffic was still moving slow in the area. Authorities advise drivers to avoid the area if possible.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
