Three Injured After 6-Car Accident On I-44, Near Broadway Ext.

Three people were transported to the hospital after an accident involving six vehicles on Interstate-44, west of Broadway Extension, Sunday afternoon.

The crash brought traffic to a stand still for eastbound I-44, near Western.

The wreck happened as a chain reaction of fuel leaking from a semi that crews were already responding to. The vehicles started lost traction on the leaked fuel and crashed into one another.

One woman in the accident was ejected from her vehicle. No word yet on the extent of her injuries. Two other people were transported to the hospital. Their conditions are also unknown.
