Freshman point guard Marcus Smart stuffed the stat sheet Wednesday night to help No. 23 Oklahoma State take down South Florida at Gallagher-Iba, 61-49.
Smart led the way for OSU with 14 points, six rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocked shots. Markel Brown added 13 points and eight rebounds for OSU while Philip Jurick grabbed 14 boards to go with his seven points.
South Florida (5-3) was led by Victor Rudd's 14 points and six rebounds. Both teams had just two players record double-digit scoring performances in the low-scoring affair.
Both teams struggled from the field Wednesday night. OSU shot just 40 percent while USF struggled to a 34 percent mark. The Bulls also managed just 5-20 from 3-point range. The Pokes dominated South Florida on the glass, out-rebounding the Bears 38-23.
OSU (6-1) hosts Missouri State (2-6) on Saturday. MOSU is coming off a 61-42 loss to Tulsa.
