OKC Boulevard To Replace Old Elevated Crosstown

Oklahoma City is one step closer to finalizing what the 100-million-dollar Oklahoma City Boulevard will look like. The roadway will replace the old Crosstown, which was an elevated highway.

At a public forum Monday night, outside consultants told the crowd of a few hundred people the best way to build the new Boulevard will be to elevate it only at Western Avenue.

Omar Sweis owns the popular Sweis Greek Café at 201 South Western.

"I have no choice but to trust the city," Sweis said.

City Council could vote on the project at the end of the year. ODOT says the new Boulevard will take two years to build.
