OKC Man Accused Of Kicking Dog To Death

Police arrested a man accused of kicking his girlfriend's dog to death in a northwest Oklahoma City apartment.

A woman called police on December 1, saying her boyfriend killed her dog while she was at the store. When police arrived at the apartment in the 7000 block of W. Britton Road, they found 25-year-old Levi Raper, and the body of a 15 to 25 pound, brown Schnauzer-Terrier mix.

Raper told police the dog had defecated on the floor. Raper said when he went to rub the dog's nose in the feces, the dog snapped at him.

According to the police report, Raper said he kicked the dog a "couple of times," and then the animal went to a corner, laid down and died.

Police took Raper into custody and placed him in a patrol car. Officers said Raper began repeatedly banging his head against the glass partition. He cut his head and had to be taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

After he was released from the hospital, Raper was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on two counts of animal cruelty.
