Konawa Residents Get Help After Being Without Water Since Sunday

The town of Konawa lost water Sunday night. The bad news is that residents are still without water from the faucet. The good news is others are stepping in to provide help.

Some residents in Seminole County are still waiting to turn on their faucets and see water come out.

The town of Konawa lost water Sunday night. The bad news is that residents are still without water from the faucet. The good news is others are stepping in to provide help.

Emergency management says a 400-gallon tanker truck is in Konawa so residents can fill up buckets to flush toilets.

On Monday, city leaders told News 9 they think there's a problem is at the city well field. However, an official cause still hasn't been found.

The wells are working, but if it is a leak in the 2,000 feet of pipe, it could take days to find and fix it.

The city has been handing out bottled water and is bringing in a shower facility for residents to use.

The schools in Konawa have their own water supply and will also be open for showers. OG&E has also offered water from their plant in case of a fire.
