A rash of break-ins puts some homeowners in Purcell on edge this holiday season.
Purcell police "tweeted" to warn homeowners about the crimes of opportunity. They happened in broad daylight in front of homes and in every case, there is a common link.
"I never lock my doors. I never thought something like this would happen. We are so lax about locking our doors everything so it's just strange," Julia Pierce said.
Police believe thieves may have scoped the neighborhood from a nearby Taco Bell.
"It just real easy for someone to walk by check the lock and if its unlocked it takes a matter of seconds from them to reach in and grab whatever they want," said Lt. James New of Purcell Police.
The same thief hit several cars only taking what was in the front seat.
