Southeastern junior guard Travis Timmons has been named the first Great American Conference Player of the Week for the 2012-13 season following his record setting performance in a 124-55 win over Dallas Christian.
Timmons paced the high-powered Savage Storm offense with 16 assists which set a school and a GAC record, snapping the mark of 14 that Ivan Johnson posted in a win over Harding just last season that served as both the school and conference mark.
He completed his effort with a double-double by adding 13 points in the effort on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor and a perfect 3-for-3 performance from the charity stripe.
The Storm finished the night with 33 assists as a team and currently hold the GAC record for most points scored in a game as a team, but fell two assist shy of tying the conference record for team assists.
Southeastern will be back in action on Nov. 15 when it hosts Union at 7:30 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
