Cleveland County sheriff's detectives arrested two people following a stabbing Sunday night in Newalla.
It happened at 11:02 p.m. in the 500 block of Clear Creek Drive. When deputies arrived on scene, they found Joshua Fuqua, 23, with a stab wound to the abdomen.
Fuqua was taken to Norman Regional Hospital where he underwent surgery. He is listed in stable condition.
According to detectives, James Leland Davis Rea, 37, and Ginger Johnson, 33, had visited Fuqua before the stabbing occurred. At some point, Rea and Fuqua went outside and got into a fight. Detectives say Rea then stabbed Fuqua once in the abdomen with a knife.
Rea and Johnson fled the scene but were arrested a short time later in the Clear Bay area of Lake Thunderbird State Park.
Johnson was arrested and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a public intoxication complaint. She bonded out of jail Monday morning.
Rea was arrested on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of controlled dangerous substance and public intoxication. He is being held in the Cleveland County jail.
Charges against Rea and Johnson have been filed with the Cleveland County District Attorney's office.
