OSU basketball player Philip Jurick received deferred sentences Monday after pleading guilty to possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in a Payne County court.
22-year-old Jurick is a center on the team who transferred from Chattanooga State in 2011 as one of the top junior college big men. He was arrested in early August after campus police found marijuana, an electronic scale and 18 baggies in his apartment, according to court documents.
Following his arrest, coach Travis Ford suspended him from the team indefinitely. His status has reportedly not changed.
Jurick has been battling an Achilles injury. Before his injury, he was the second-leading blocker for the Cowboys.
