A homeowner in Harmon County shot and killed one of three women who tried to burglarize his home Thursday. The other two women were arrested by Beckham County deputies later that day.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, just after 12 p.m. on Thursday, three women tried to burglarize a home located in the 14000 block of N. 1747 Road in Vinson, Oklahoma.

The homeowner, who authorities say is disabled, shot and killed one of the women, later identified as 50-year-old Mary Kathleen Sanders, just outside his home. Sanders was a former employee of the homeowner.

The other two women, 26-year-old Misty Dawn Puskaric and 37-year-old Starr Michelle Timmons, then fled the scene in a Ford Mustang, according to the OSBI. However, they were arrested later that day near Elk City.

Both Puskaric and Timmons were booked into the Beckham County jail on first-degree burglary charges.

The Harmon County Sheriff's Office requested OSBI's help to investigate the case. Agents have served a search warrant on the women's Ford Mustang for any evidence of the burglary.
