Sooners Launch New Fan Rewards Program

The OU Athletic Department has launched a new rewards program for fans, and put game programs on Ipads.

The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department announced today the launch of a new fan and student rewards program.

Developed in partnership with Row27 Studios, participants automatically receive points for sharing and liking Facebook posts, re-Tweeting and/or using predetermined hashtags on Twitter, and much more.

"With more than half a million people using OU Athletics social platforms, we wanted to engage them even more directly and reward them for their loyalty," stated Kenny Mossman, OU senior associate athletics director. "The new Sooner Rewards program will give fans a fun way to interact with us and provide them with experiential and tangible rewards."

The new program is geared for all fans with two divisions: students and non-students. Non-students can use their points for either entry into contests or redemption for merchandise dollars in the official online store of the Sooners – shop.soonersports.com.

OU students will continue to earn points in the Sooner Nation program by attending athletics events, but now can get additional points for their social media sharing of official Sooner Facebook posts, Tweets and coming soon, Instagram posts. All points earned to date will be added to a student's new Sooner Rewards account.

How To Play

All it takes is three quick and easy steps to start earning points:

1. Go to Rewards.SoonerSports.com and click on the sign up button to create a profile.

2. Connect your Facebook, Twitter, and foursquare accounts to your profile.

3. Start engaging with Sooner Athletics social media by linking, sharing, re-Tweeting, etc.!

Earning Prizes

Fans can redeem prizes by accumulating points. Redeemable prizes range from a raffle prize of a 2013 football road trip, to fan experiences and Sooners merchandise. OU Students can earn points to win either a $2,500 or $1,000 tuition waiver. Leaderboards will track the highest point totals in both the student and non-student divisions, while all fans can use their points to increase their chance to win rewards.

Programs Now Available On Ipad

University of Oklahoma football fans can enhance their experience this season with the official Sooner Gameday Programs, now available for the IPad in the Apple iTunes Store for only $5.99.

OU fans can get a season's worth of interactive Sooners digital home and road game programs, including the annual Red River Rivalry contest vs. Texas. If purchased separately in stadium, the cost of six home game programs and the OU-Texas game would be $37. While Sooner Gameday Programs are currently available only for IPad users, other versions are being tested and will be available soon.
