The Civic Center Music Hall is a gem in downtown Oklahoma City. The stage has seen many Broadway hits and the 2012-2013 season ahead is no different.
It kicks off with a show that hasn't been here since the Civic Center closed before the renovation. It's now in its final tour and that's Les Miserables.
If you want to see Les Miserables, you have to come to Oklahoma City because there's no other place in the region that's going to have it.
Then the very next month we bring in some Disney magic with Mary Poppins. In January, we have a show coming back called Jekyll and Hyde with Constantine Morales and Deborah Cox in it.
Another show that we are really excited about is a Broadway concert. We're bringing in five Broadway stars and they're going to be singing the songs that made them famous on Broadway.
We end our season with Leonard Bernstein's classic Broadway show west side story.
There's lots of excitement inside on the stage of the civic center music hall, but there's also a lot of activity going on outside. Bicentennial park is getting a renovation that should be wrapped up around January 2014.
Even though the park looks a little torn up right now, the finished product will be beautiful, complete with fountains, walkways and plenty of parking. The Civic Center Music Hall gives us one more reason to be Downtown Proud.
