A former Tulsa TV news anchor was arrested on a drug complaint late Sunday night after officers searched his pickup truck following a traffic stop.

According to jail records, a Tulsa police officer stopped the pickup driven by former KTUL anchor Jerry Giordano just before midnight Sunday near 41st and South Harvard after the officer noticed it had an expired tag.

The officer then learned Giordano had no insurance for the vehicle.

As the officer was doing an inventory of the pickup, he found a baggie in the driver's seat containing a "dirty crystalline substance." The officer wrote that he also found a baggie of "white crystalline substance" in the driver side door panel and a "large rock of crystalline substance" in the driver side door handle.

The officer wrote that a substance in the baggie found on the seat was tested and was found "presumptive positive for meth."

Giordano was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of possession of a controlled and dangerous substance.

After posting bond, Giordano was released. He is scheduled for an August 28th court date.

In 2008, Giordano entered a blind plea on a DUI charge.
