Oklahomans with dreams of being in a big Hollywood movie now have a chance to be an extra in a new film starring Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts
Freihofer Casting is holding an open call for extras for the movie "August: Osage County." The open call will be held Saturday, August 18, at the DoubleTree Warren Place Hotel in Tulsa from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Oklahoman Tracy Letts wrote the dramatic movie. It's about a family that comes together when their alcoholic father disappears. The film is based on Lett's Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
The casting director says the film needs a variety of extras, with the exception of babies and toddlers.
"We will ask everyone to provide us with contact information and clothing sizes," said casting director Chris Freihofer. "And we will take everyone's pictures. The whole process should take less than 10 minutes."
Freihofer asks that people not contact the hotel for more information. Instead, people are urged to call the casting hotline at (405) 310-4391.
