RedHawks Win Wild One In 10 Innings Over Iowa

Chris Wallace hit a pinch-hit, bases-clearing single in the bottom of the 10th inning to help the Oklahoma City RedHawks to a dramatic 6-5 win over the Iowa Cubs.

Wallace hit the first pitch he saw over left fielder James Adduci's head to clear the bases and set off a wild celebration at Bricktown Ballpark.

The Cubs had just scored two runs in the top of the 10th to take a 5-3 lead over the RedHawks, but OKC was able to strike back for the win, continuing the trend of the night as the RedHawks and Cubs matched each other hit for hit and run for run.

The Cubs struck first with a run in the first inning, and added a second run in the top of the second inning on a solo homer from Adduci.

The RedHawks countered with a home run of their own from Brett Wallace in the bottom of the frame to make the score 2-1.

After the Cubs scored another run in the fourth, OKC scored a single run in the fifth and sixth innings to tie the score at three.

There, the score remained until the Cubs rallied in the top of 10th inning to score two runs on an RBI double by Adduci and a sacrifice fly from Diory Hernandez.

Sergio Perez got the win for OKC, while Michael Bowden took the loss. The RedHawks will go for the sweep over the Cubs tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. at Bricktown Ballpark.
