Team USA might have been dressed like the Dream Team on Sunday but the only player who seemed to live up to the 1992 throwback uniforms was Kevin Durant.
The U.S. narrowly escaped Argentina 86-80 behind a game-best 27 points from Durant, who hit seven 3's in the win. The last of his 3's helped the U.S. extend its lead back to seven in the final minutes, giving it a needed cushion to secure the victory.
Durant got help from Kobe Bryant's 18 points and LeBron James' 15 but Team USA had a difficult time putting away an extremely physical Argentinean squad.
Manu Ginobili led Argentina with 23 points, Carlos Delfino had 15 and Luis Scola chipped in 14 in the loss.
With the victory, the U.S. improved to 4-0 in exhibition play leading up to the Olympics in London.
Durant's Thunder teammates didn't have much impact on the game. Russell Westbrook did play exceptional defense and had a highlight-reel block in transition but James Harden did not play in Coach Mike Krzyzewski's slimmed down 10-man rotation.
