Oklahoma City's five-game winning streak came to a screeching halt on Friday night against Memphis.
After scoring runs in bunches the past week – 54 in their past five – the RedHawks couldn't get the bats going in an 8-1 defeat.
OKC's lone run came in the top of the ninth inning when first baseman Mike Hessman grounded into a double play but Jimmy Paredes scored from third.
Oklahoma City and Memphis each totaled eight runs for the game but the RedHawks just couldn't find their way across the plate. Memphis, on the other hand, scored its final six runs off of home runs.
Left handed starter Brett Oberholtzer (3-3) was charged with the loss after allowing six earned runs and three homers in six innings with a 6.94 ERA.
Memphis' Shelby Miller got the win after giving up no runs and four hits in six innings.
The two teams face off again on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. in Memphis.
