The Associated Press is reporting that Blake Griffin will undergo arthroscopic surgery on Monday to repair the medial meniscus tear in his left knee that he suffered during practice with the U.S. National Team in Las Vegas, Nev.
The Los Angeles Clippers said Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic will perform the surgery.
The former Oklahoma star returned to Los Angeles on Thursday after experiencing discomfort in the same knee that bothered him during the NBA Playoffs. Griffin will Olympics, but the Clippers say he should be ready for the start of the NBA season.
Griffin was named a Western Conference All-Star in 2011 after averaging 20.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game.
