After a pair of losses to begin Summer League play, the Oklahoma City Thunder came out with renewed intensity, taking an 83-62 win over the Detroit Pistons.
Lazar Hayward, Garrett Temple and Reggie Jackson each scored 15 points for the Thunder, who used tenacious defense to force 23 Pistons turnovers.
Austin Daye led the Pistons with 18 points, and first-round pick Andre Drummond scored 10 points to go along with nine rebounds.
Jackson, who had impressed people with his confidence on the floor the first two games, continued his stellar play, adding seven rebounds and five assists against just two turnovers to his 15 points.
Cole Aldrich shook off two less-than-stellar performances in the first two games of Summer League to score 10 points on 5-7 shooting. Aldrich also grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots.
Center Hasheem Thabeet did not play with the Thunder today, even though he officially signed with the Thunder Wednesday morning. It is unknown whether or not Thabeet will play with the team at all in Orlando.
Thunder draft pick Perry Jones III also did not play, a day after spraining his left ankle. Team officials said the injury wasn't significant, but Jones will not be playing the rest of the week in Orlando as a precaution.
The Thunder also signed undrafted forward Hollis Thompson out of the University of Georgetown. According to his agent, it's a three-year deal. Thompson averaged 12.8 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game in his junior season for the Hoyas this past year. Thompson was the Hoyas main three-point shooting specialist, connecting on 43 percent of his three-point shots.
With the signing of Thompson and Thabeet, in addition to drafting Jones, the Thunder has their full 15-man roster. This means free agents Derek Fisher, Nazr Mohammed and Royal Ivey will not be returning to the team.
The Thunder will face Brooklyn tomorrow at noon CST, as Summer League play continues in Orlando.
