The Oklahoma City RedHawks fell too far behind to catch up Saturday night in New Orleans, losing to the Zephyrs 9-5.
Brett Oberholtzer (2-2) struggled for OKC, allowing seven earned runs, including five homers, in only four innings.
It was a balanced effort for New Orleans, with every position player in the lineup collecting at least one hit. Luke Montz, Mike Cervenak and Chris Coghlan had two RBIs apiece.
Trailing 9-2, the RedHawks scored three runs in the eighth inning to get back in it, but ran out of steam.
Marwin Gonzalez was the bright spot offensively for Oklahoma City, going two for five with three RBIs.
The RedHawks will go for the series win at 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon in New Orleans.
