A two-vehicle collision in Harper County claimed the life of one person and sent two others to the hospital Friday afternoon.
It happened just after 4:30 p.m. Friday, about seven miles north of Laverne on U.S. Highway 283 in Harper County.
Troopers say a 1996 Dodge pickup driven by 29-year-old William Taylor from Leedey was going eastbound on U.S. Highway 64, when it slammed into the side of a semi truck, hitting its diesel tank. That caused the pickup to catch fire.
The semi was attempting to make a left turn near the Highway 283 junction when it was hit by Taylor's pickup, according to troopers.
Authorities say Taylor was pronounced dead on the scene. He was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Oklahoma City.
The passenger in his truck, 44-year-old Mark Andrew Raymond of Woodward, was medi-flighted to OU medical center in critical condition with several injuries and burns to his face.
The semi-driver was taken to hospital and later released.
