Thunder Girls Tryout Date Announced

The Oklahoma City Thunder has announced it will host auditions for the 2012-13 Thunder Girls dance team on July 28. The auditions will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the Thunder Events Center.

Women interested must be 18 or older to try out. The registration forms and details are available at Thunder.NBA.com.

The auditions will be an all-day event and are closed to the public. Participants will learn a series of dance combinations and finalists will be selected at the end of the day. Members of this past season's squad are still required to audition.

The new dance team will be announced on Aug. 2 at the Riverwind Casino, the official sponsor of the Thunder Girls, in front of an audience.

The Thunder Girls perform at 41 home games and make more than 100 local appearances in the community and at sponsored events.
