A Tulsa County judge has handed down a 15-year suspended sentence to a former Skiatook school district superintendent who was accused of bribery.
District Judge Tom Gillert also ordered Gary Johnson to pay $657,000 in restitution during a hearing on Friday.
Johnson pleaded guilty in July to four counts of soliciting and/or accepting a bribe as a public officer or public employee for taking cash bribes from an Oklahoma City vendor. He didn't reach a plea agreement with prosecutors beforehand.
A Tulsa County grand jury indicted Johnson after an audit found overspending by the school district for supplies and equipment. He later resigned.
The vendor, Rick Enos, has pleaded guilty but hasn't been sentenced.
Johnson's attorney, Rob Nigh, didn't immediately return a call left at his office Saturday seeking comment.
