The refrigeration system at the State Medical Examiner's Office was up and running Thursday morning, about 24 hours after it first broke down.
Repair crews found the part needed to fix the cooler Wednesday night. The refrigerator keeps dozens of bodies at a properly cool temperature so medical examiners can conduct autopsies before the bodies decompose.
The bodies were moved to a refrigerated truck and a local funeral home while the cooler was being repaired. The M.E.'s office is keeping some refrigerated trucks on site until Friday, in case there are any more problems with the cooler.
