A 21-year-old man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the drive-by shooting death of a Lawton boy who was killed as he slept on a couch.
Jeremy McKindra entered the plea Monday and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. McKindra was one of two men charged in the death of 6-year-old Hikeem Lambirth.
The boy died after a bullet was fired into his home, striking him in the chest.
Prosecutors claim McKindra drove to the boy's house while another man, Maurice Tubbs, fired shots into the home. Last year, Tubbs was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
The Lawton Constitution reports that McKindra also pleaded guilty Monday to one count of perjury in connection with his testimony at Tubbs' trial.
