The Oklahoma State football team landed a big verbal commitment Wednesday in four-star recruit Marcell Ateman.
"I wanna announce that I committed to Oklahoma State," said Ateman via his personal Twitter account (@ItsMarcell) on Wednesday.
Ateman is a 6'4, 190 pound wide receiver in the class of 2013 from Wylie East High School in Texas.
Last year as a junior he racked up 67 catches for 1,047 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is listed as a four-star recruit.
Ateman reportedly also had offers from Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee, Washington State, Virginia, Purdue, Virginia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Iowa State, Baylor and Arizona.
Although verbal commitments are non-binding, ESPN reports that Ateman confirmed his decision with Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy as well as OSU Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken.
"It was the coaching staff and the way they came at me. They really showed me a lot of love." Ateman told ESPN.
Recruits can sign national letters of intent starting in February, until then Ateman will be on the field for Wylie East in what is expected to be another impressive season.
