The Oklahoma Sooners couldn't combat a late game rally by TCU, falling 4-3 for its first loss in the last four games.

TCU tied the game thanks to two runs scored in the bottom of the eighth. The Sooners committed two errors in the bottom of the final frame and TCU's Derek Odell connected on a single to left that scored the winning run for the Horned Frogs.

The Sooners started the game strong defensively with two solid strikeouts by starter Dillon Overton, but an error and a double by TCU's Jantzen Witte put the Horned Frogs on the board in the bottom of the first.

But the Sooners struck back in the top of the fourth. Max White's standup-triple scored Caleb Bushyhead and Jack Mayfield making it 2-1. One batter later, Cody Reine's sacrifice fly plated White giving OU a 3-1 advantage.

Just when they needed it, the Horned Frogs put together a productive eighth frame. TCU loaded the bases and the Sooners brought in Damien Magnifico to the mound to relieve Overton. Magnifico fired two 98+ pitches but fell behind in the count and walked TCU's Jason Coats allowing one run to score. Witte then grounded into a double play, but still scored one run to tie the game 3-3.

Oklahoma needed some offensive firepower in the ninth, but TCU brought in Kevin Allen who struck out two batters before OU's Dillon Yeaman singled to center for the final out.

In the last frame, TCU's Zac Jordan managed a single to short and reached first on a fielding error. Two batters later, Brance Rivera reached first on a single and moved to second on yet another OU error, this time a missed throw. Odell then singled to left scoring Rivera for TCU to take the 4-3 victory.

Allen takes the win on the mound for the Horned Frogs with one inning of relief, two strikeouts and no runs.

OU's Steven Okert is credited with the loss after spending 1.2 innings on the mound allowing one hit and one run to score. Overton went a total of six innings allowing four hits and one run while striking out seven.

Odell paced the TCU offense going two-of-two from the plate with one RBI.

Oklahoma was led by White who was one-for-three with two RBI on the night while Bushyhead was three-of-four.

The Sooners now prepare for a three-game series with rival Oklahoma State. The first game will be played in Tulsa at 7 p.m. on Friday before the series shifts to OKC for games on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
