The newest addition to the Oklahoma City skyline is all lit up Monday night. The SkyDance Bridge officially opened.
Mayor Mick Cornett said he thinks the bridge will leave a lasting impression.
"You know there was a day when you go from Amarillo to Fort Smith, and not remember you were ever in Oklahoma City. And today, this bridge is to illustrate that day is over," Cornett said.
The mayor and other city leaders unveiled the pedestrian bridge earlier on Monday. The 380-foot-long bridge spans Interstate 40 near Robinson.
The bridge was inspired by the state bird, the scissor-tailed flycatcher.
