The Oklahoma City RedHawks had their three-game win streak snapped at the hands of the Memphis Redbirds Sunday, falling 4-3 in the third game of their four-game series.
Oklahoma City jumped out to a lead early thanks to a two-out RBI single from Landon Powell to bring J.B. Shuck home and take a 1-0 lead. However two innings later, Adron Chambers singled on a ground ball to right field to bring Jermaine Curtis home to tie the game 1-1 for Memphis.
The RedHawks battled back in the top of the sixth, thanks to a line-drive, RBI single to right field by Paul Clemens to bring Collin DeLome home and take a 2-1 advantage.
Memphis battled back in the bottom of the seventh, taking advantage of Oklahoma City miscues. After Zack Cox drew a leadoff walk, a wild pitch and passed ball put Curtis on third base, and yet another walk put Jermaine Curtis on first base.
Cedric Hunter followed with a single to right field, brining Cox home and moving Curtis to third base. Adrom Chambers hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring Curtis home and take a 3-2 lead.
In the next half-inning, Shuck grounded out to the pitcher allowing DeLome to score from third, tying the game. However, a fielding error in the bottom of the eighth inning allowed Chris Swauger to score, taking a 4-3 lead and closing the game out.
Oklahoma City will try to go for the series win at 7:05 p.m. Monday in the final game of the series, before heading to Nashville for a four-game series.
