The Oklahoma State Cowgirls have started to build their coaching staff, as the women's basketball program announced Saturday the hiring of Candace Whitaker joining as the associate head coach from UMKC.
As the Kangaroos' head coach, Whitaker compiled a 77-93 record, including a 22-12 record, passing the 20-win mark for the first time since the 1991-92 season, heading to the Summit League title game for the first time since 2005.
The Cowgirls are coming off of a WNIT Championship win, capping off a 22-12 season with a 75-68 win over James Madison.
