The Cowboys' offense had trouble early on, putting them in a big hole early, allowing No. 5 Missouri to cruise to an 88-70 win in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament.
The Cowboys were tied with Missouri 6-6 less than four minutes into the game, but their offense dried up, giving the Tigers a chance to build a big lead. Missouri scored 17-0 run, including 11 from Kim English to take a 23-6 advantage halfway through the first half.
Brian Williams knocked down a three-pointer to stop the bleeding, but Missouri snapped off seven consecutive to take a 30-9 lead with 9:18 on the clock.
Oklahoma State's offense got started once again, but the Tigers continued to score and went into halftime with a dominant 49-25 advantage.
The second half was more kind to the Cowboys, but they were unable to overcome the Tigers' big first half lead.
English finished with a game-high 27 points and six rebounds, leading Missouri to the big win, while Marcus Denmon contributed 24 points and eight boards.
Keiton Page was the high scorer for the Cowboys, scoring 22 points and grabbing eight rebounds, with Brian Williams contributing 21 points and eight rebounds in the loss. However, Oklahoma State had just seven active players in the game today and the depth cost them.
The Cowboys fall to 15-18 on the season, hoping for a NIT or CBI invitation to keep their season going.
