It was a battle of long bombs Saturday in the Cathedral City Classic, as the Georgia Bulldogs knocked off the Oklahoma Sooners 3-2 to close out the tournament for both squads.

Georgia (12-2) started the homer-fest early in the bottom of the second, with a two-run home run down the left field line from Paige Wilson to take a 2-0 advantage.

Keilani Ricketts tried to bring the Sooners back into contention in the top of the sixth, tying it with a homer over the center field wall with a runner on base to make things even heading into the final inning and a half of the game.

However, Ashley Razey put the Bulldogs back on top immediately with a leadoff home run in the bottom half of the inning to take a 3-2 lead.

Morgan Montemayor came in for Georgia and retired three of the next four batters to close the game out for Georgia. She finished with a complete-game for the Bulldogs, giving up just two earned runs on seven hits, striking out five.

Ricketts was credited with a loss for the outing, giving up three earned runs on four hits in six innings pitched.

The Sooners will be back in action Wednesday, taking on the North Texas Mean Green at 6 p.m. in Denton.
