DNA evidence links a convicted felon to numerous rapes in the Norman area.

The attacks occurred between the 1980's up until the early 2000's and for years went unsolved.

Norman police say he also gave them a confession.

Fifty-year-old Robert Howard Bruce is accused of several attacks in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, and right here in Oklahoma. He focused his attacks around the Norman area, near the University of Oklahoma campus.

He is currently in a Colorado prison, but at one time was a student at OU.

Bruce told Norman investigators he would often troll for his victims around the Campus Corner area, and also at the mall. He would then stalk them, track them down to their home, and often break in and try to attack them.

He confessed to us 14 different events," said Captain Michael Praizner with the Norman Police Department.

Eight of those he confessed to rape or sexual assaults, the remainder of those were burglaries in the first degree where people were home and he didn't commit the act or he went to commit the act and they weren't home.
