The No. 8 ranked Kansas Jayhawks responded to last Saturday's first conference loss with a 84-62 blowout of Oklahoma Wednesday night in Lawrence.
KU's Thomas Robinson tallied 20 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks as the Jayhawks outscored OU 50-31 in the second half of play.
The Sooners kept it close in the beginning trailing by five points with eight minutes left in the opening half. OU cut the lead thanks to a 9-2 run just before halftime, but still were down 34-31 at the break.
From then on, it was all KU.
The Jayhawks started the second on a 14-4 run to go up 48-35 and they never looked back. Kansas (18-4, 8-1 Big 12) shot 77 percent in the second compared to OU's 37 percent.
Tyshawn Taylor had 21 points for Kansas while Jeff Withey added 15 and Travis Releford had 12.
For Oklahoma, Romero Osby scored 19 points, Steven Pledger had 17 and Andrew Fitzgerald finished with 14 for the Sooners who are now 13-8 on the year and 3-6 in Big 12 play.
OU shot 41 percent from the field and on the evening but had 15 turnovers. Kansas finished on 55 percent shooting with 12 turnovers.
Oklahoma will take on Iowa State Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. inside Lloyd Noble Arena.
