Police are on the lookout for a driver who hit a man on a bicycle Monday morning.
The victim, Bill Hartman, went to the hospital with a shattered leg.
He was taking his usual route to work on Northwest 31st near Military Avenue.
He says a man driving a small, beat-up gold colored car hit him. The driver stopped but didn't help.
"He asked me if I was hurt," Hartman said. "Of course, I was laying on the curb. He asked me if I was hurt and I said 'Yes, I am hurt.' He said, 'I'm sorry. I didn't see you.'"
Hartman does not have insurance. His coworkers took up a collection to help pay hospital bills. They've also set up a fund in his name at Coppermark Bank. The public can make donations at any location.
